For You a Thousand Times Over !!!

The Kite Runner is a very touching novel by Khaled Hosseni. Yes, it is by an Afgan writer who migrated to the USA. The story is about post-war Afghanistan, less the Taliban and stuff. The story is depicted vividly, with its detail of Afgan culture and celebrations. The most prominent is the kite fighting competition. We are also taken back to how Afghanistan would actually look like before the war and fighting.

It is a story that takes me back, down memory lane, the two characters Hassan and Amir are like a reflection of Me and my best friend. However their friendship is very troubled and unique at the same time. Thus it is appropriate that the whole plot focuses on the conflict between these to individuals. Their joyous time together are a reminder of my own time with my friends, going around the neighborhood and painting it red (ok,that did not happen).

The main turning point of the plot is a secret !!!!. You have to read it to find out. So for all you people out there, please buy this book. It is a very wonderful book that is worth the the time reading. One of my favourite quotes from the novel is where Hassan said to Amir, "For you, a thousand times over", it is such a power sentence, with such simple words.
