For You a Thousand Times Over !!!

The Kite Runner is a very touching novel by Khaled Hosseni. Yes, it is by an Afgan writer who migrated to the USA. The story is about post-war Afghanistan, less the Taliban and stuff. The story is depicted vividly, with its detail of Afgan culture and celebrations. The most prominent is the kite fighting competition. We are also taken back to how Afghanistan would actually look like before the war and fighting.

It is a story that takes me back, down memory lane, the two characters Hassan and Amir are like a reflection of Me and my best friend. However their friendship is very troubled and unique at the same time. Thus it is appropriate that the whole plot focuses on the conflict between these to individuals. Their joyous time together are a reminder of my own time with my friends, going around the neighborhood and painting it red (ok,that did not happen).

The main turning point of the plot is a secret !!!!. You have to read it to find out. So for all you people out there, please buy this book. It is a very wonderful book that is worth the the time reading. One of my favourite quotes from the novel is where Hassan said to Amir, "For you, a thousand times over", it is such a power sentence, with such simple words.

I killed a little yellow bird....

This is NOT animal cruelty, I feel sad doing it k, plus it was just an accident. As I was driving along the KESAS highway my spead was like 100 mph, and turning in to the overhead brige that leads to the LDP highway. I saw this bright yelllow bird flying. Then it begin to fly lower and lower, and suddenly it was right in-font of my path. NO !!!. Then BANG !. OK is was not that loud, but maybe more of a THUD. OH the horror. Was it dead ? The bird hit my left-side of the car. Hopefully it survived. But then my bro told me that the bird was lying on the road, and there was two cars behind me. HMMM..... let me do the maths. The odd of the little bird surviving, not good. Why !!!!.......?????

FOOD !!!!

Last night I was invited to my uncle and aunt's silver anniversary dinner. The food was very nice. It was held in this restaurant, not a fancy one though, just an ordinary one, with some extraordinary food in Rawang. Here are some eye-watering treats for you. Enjoy !!

The first dish was the four seasons. It has the "pak but", some char siew, salad chicken with orange and slices of mango, and finally peas with scallop.

The second dish is shark-fin. Yum !!

The third dish was steam pak chong. It was not that nice cause the meat was kinda hard when it should be smooth

The fourth dish is beggar chicken. The soup was very yummy.

The fifth dish is pig's foreleg. Its nice as I kinda enjoy the nuts and mushroom in it.

The sixth dish is broccoli with lotus root. Its kinda normal, nothing special about it.

The dessert was white fungus with sweet potatoes. Its nice, but I don't rally like sweet potatoes.
